The Champaign School of Music is one of the best music schools in the state of Illinois with an active enrollment of about 200. Students drive from as far away as Savoy, Mahomet, Monticello, Rantoul, Bloomington, Charleston as well as Champaign-Urbana to take lessons here. We offer lessons for babies to adults.

We are the only school in Champaign, IL that offers all of these popular instruments: Piano, Electric & Acoustic Guitar, Voice, Singing, Keyboard, Bass, Drum set, Clarinet, Sax, Flute, trumpet PLUS Music Together (for Babies-5 yrs), Rock Band  and a variety of other classes all in one location.

2. Large, qualified teaching faculty in Champaign-Urbana.

We have 12 music teachers, all with either college training or professional performance experience. Our music teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal music goals and helping you achieve them. With at least two to three music teachers for every instrument, we are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your music lesson needs. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and are dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn. 
 

3. The widest range of music lesson times available six days a week!

To accomodate your busy schedule, we offer music lessons six days a week: mid-afternoon through evening on weekdays and morning through mid-afternoon on Saturdays.

2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday

2:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. Fridays

10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Champaign School of Music has a proven track record of offering quality music, piano, guitar, voice, singing, bass, drum, violin, trumpet, sax, flute and clarinet lessons as well as Music Together ® and multiple additional classes in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois year round. Our full time mission is to teach music and we have been trusted by over 800 families for the past decade.
 

5. A comfortable waiting area for our clients and their families.

With 2,000 square feet we have the most spacious school and family friendly waiting area in Champaign-Urbana. Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, our clients enjoy a waiting area with comfortable chairs, kids’ books, Wi-Fi, magazines and a notice board that highlights our students and exciting, upcoming events. If you decide not to join your child in lessons, you are welcome to relax in our waiting area and talk with the teacher after your child's lesson.
 

6. Fully stocked music lesson rooms.

Our rooms are stocked with everything needed to get the most out of music lessons, including amps, stereos, full drum kits with pads, keyboards, pianos and more. All you need to bring is your portable instrument. 
 

7. Six Free music recitals a year!

We are the only music school in Champaign-Urbana that offers six free recitals a year. Every parent wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital. Our recitals are held every other month so that students have several opportunities to gain valuable 

performing experience, set and reach short term goals, and share what they are learning with their parents. For our students these recitals are free and, unlike many schools in Champaign-Urbana, we do not charge recitalparticipation or admission fees. This can only be found at the Champaign School of Music. 

8. Professional office staff six days a week to serve you. 

We are the only music school in Champaign-Urbana that offers professional customer service staff for our students six days a week. Many music studio desks are staffed by the teacher/owner or more commonly - an answering machine. We have three office team members who assist our clients quickly and professionally.
 

9.  Easily accessible and located on Duncan in the heart of west Champaign. 

Our school is convenient to all areas of Champaign-Urbana via Windsor, Kirby/Florida, Springfield and Duncan Avenue as well as I-57. Close to our school, you will find County Market, Carle Clinic, Dr Matzner’s Wellness Clinic, and great shopping and dining at the Crossings. Our location is convenient and we have many students from Champaign, Urbana, Savoy, Tuscola, Mahomet, Monticello, Rantoul, Charleston and even Bloomington.
 

10. Picture Day

We are the only music school in Champaign-Urbana that offers a picture day for their students. Twice a year we host a free picture day with professional photographer Randy Musselman. This is a service that our students’ parents love as they want quality photos of their children. Adults, parent's and students are welcome too! Students can bring their instruments to the photo shoot and wear whatever they wish.

11. Family Jam Nights

We are the only music school in Champaign-Urbana that offers a regular Family Rock Jam night. Every other month, we invite family members of all ages to come and participate in an interactive workshop and jam with a professional, local band. Everyone is encouraged to bring their instrument and jam with the band. We have keyboards, drums set and various child-friendly instruments available. These nights are free to our CSM families who register ahead or $5/family at the door. Non CSM families pay a small fee of $5-$8/family.
 

12. Month to Month lessons.

The Champaign School of Music does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis.
